This book in the series focussed on smile design techniques and some of the smile changing techniques particularly where tooth preparation is accept-able. However there is an increasing concern amongst clinicians and patients about the amount of tooth reduction – some would say destruction, carried out to enhance esthetics, while healthcare in general moves towards minimal inter-vention (MI). I believe patients should receive the best possible care, with the options not being limited by the clinician’s skill (or lack of skills). Hence, the vision for this Essentials series and this third volume.
